| | 1. | What makes your work different from what i find at my local department/furniture store? | | | The furniture found at your local store is a mass produced type of furniture. The real focus is not furniture quality but making a profit for stock holders. A studio shop like mine means that each piece is individually crafted, allowances are made for wood expansion and contraction, proper joints, and quality to last many generations. Wood is hand selected for beauty and color, and finishes are applied to complement the grain and luster of the wood. It is similiar to comparing a ford taurus to a hand built ferrari. Yes, both are automobiles but that is where the similaries stop. And yes, I do this to make money, and I may make more off of an individual piece than the local store, I have to. It takes me three weeks to make your piece, the local store has six total hours invested, including putting it on the floor, shipping and construction. | | | Return to Top

Each case is individually crafted using dado and rabbet joinery for superior structure and long life, and all doors and drawers are hand selected and crafted for grain, beauty, and color.
